主讲人介绍:

Dr. Jen was born in Chongqing, raised in Shanghai and Taipei. He has a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, and worked as professors at Clemson University and Michigan State University. He was the Division Chair of Food Science and Technology at University of Georgia and the Dean of College of Agriculture at California Polytechnic State University. He was nominated by the President and approved by U.S. Congress to be the Under Secretary of U.S. Department of Agriculture in charge of Research, Education, and Economics in 2001. He was the first food scientist to break the glass ceiling of USDA for such position. He has won many awards, most notably the “citation of leadership” by the Council of Presidents of the Professional Scientific Societies in 2004. He was the only person in the agricultural field to ever won this overall science leadership award. He is now the Editor of Food Control, and Co-Chair of Food Safety Expert Panel of International Union of Food Science and Technology, and the Chair of the Advisory Council of the Bor S. Luh Food Safety Research Center of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is also the Honorary Professor of China Agricultural University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Northwest Agricultural and Forestry University.

    任筑山(Joseph Jen)博士出生于重庆,在上海和台北市长大。他在加州大学伯克利分校获得博士学位,并曾在克雷蒙森大学和密西根州立大学担任教授。曾是格鲁吉亚大学食品科学与技术部主任以及加利福尼亚理工大学农业学院的院长。他由总统提名,并于2001年被美国国会批准为美国农业部的副部长,主管科研、教育以及经济事务。他是第一位获得美国农业部职位的食品科学家,获得了许多奖项,其中最引人注目的是2004年专业科学学会会长理事会授予的“杰出领导才华奖”,是农业领域唯一获得科学领导奖的人选。现为Food Control杂志编辑,食品科学与技术国际联盟食品安全专家组共同主席,以及上海交通大学陆伯勋食品安全研究中心顾问委员会主席,同时还是中国农业大学,上海交通大学和西北农林科技大学的名誉教授。
